angel (1960s silvertone bass)

a 60s silvertone bass with a custom clear pickguard and satin black body finish, with the neck sanded smooth (by me!). i got it off ebay for 90 quid in a right state, the previous owner had filled in the body with random bullshit and blutak, was fun to get it out tho, they had got rid of all the original controls which is sad, will probably add a volume pot as its kinda annoying not having one.

this one took alot of work! after emptying the body and resoldering the connections, i had to drill holes so the pickup was attached to the pickguard instead of lying on the bottom of the body, made some springs out of junk welding wire, redid the fret ends and cleaned the fret board (which took hours!) sanded down the back of the neck with some steel wool, oh yeah and for some reason they removed the string bar and filled in the holes? and a replacement is like hens teeth since they never made replacement parts cause why the fuck would you remove the string bar? anyway the high strings were super buzzy without it (surprise) so i made one out of ashley's original bridge and some nuts and bolts, works good!

some of the things i didnt take out were the angel sticker and an old sterioscope with a mini angel on it and the orginal modders name on the back, cute! sadly with the state i got it in i dont think he ever got it fully working, but i have and it sounds sick!!!! 04/09/26
